Growing up Sunset
YOU
MAKE SUNSET GREAT
Sunset Park has wonderful historic buildings, a 24 acre park on 6th Avenue and a new waterfront park at 43rd Street. But this is not what makes us great - What makes us great is the people.
And of these people, a handful lead the way - they take bold steps to reach out to others and provide loving assistance. This assistance takes many forms, and here on this page I would like to thank various Sunset Parkers that inspire me due to their good works & loving heart.
Tara Schaubert

Tara's home is a school, an afterschool center, a restaurant and social club. But most of all, it is a home in the truest sense.
I don't know if this was planned or just evolved as one act of loving kindness led to another. But what I do know is that this home is a place of love, safety and concern for others.
A blessing offered is always a double blessing received in return.
Neighboring kids can come after school for homework help, families can come to break bread together and sit around a table and share stories.
I understand that now the door is rarely closed and instead a child guard fence sits there.
Thank you so much Tara!
