Memories from
Rainbow Playground
56th & 6th
I used to live on 58 & 6 and when my mother first started to give me a little freedom I was allow to go play at that park. I used to play handball with my girl friends. One day a few guys were having a rap session in the park. I used to write poetry so I felt like I could apply that to rapping. I started freestyling with the fellas and my love for hip hop grew stronger. It molded me into the artist I am today. Eventually lead to a song writing contract. I remember kissing my first boy there. And getting into my first fight as well. Lol. Ahh sweet memories..

I spent many Friday afternoons learning Swedish folkdances and Swedish songs. It was a fantastic building and we were fortunate to have the front yard to play tag before our meeting would begin.
Those were fun times.
And I remember going to a New Year's Eve party with my parents when I was around 13 years old. I was always amazed how the dance floor moved when everyone was up on the floor dancing. Great memories.

My Dad used to work in the parking lot for that building (Williamsburg Bank Building). He took me on Saturdays once in a while to work with him when I was a little kid.
And he took me to the employee lockers and cafeteria way up near the top a few times. I remember feeling like I was flying above everyone.
I love this building too because it always reminds me of my dad.
